Following on from our parent survey at the end of Autumn 2, we will be starting a new and improved homework programme this term which we hope will enable year 2 pupils to focus on developing their fundamental English and arithmetic skills using a little and often approach. We have stripped out a lot of the previous homework tasks to focus on the skills which are most important for pupils and hopefully these new expectations will give them more time to do this.
All children will be expected to now read at least 4 times a week during their spare time. All children that meet this expectation weekly will receive a golden ticket for a class prize draw each term for a book voucher. Alongside this, your child will be asked to practise their weekly spellings (see below) for an in class quiz at the end of the week and to complete multiplication table activities on TTRockstars.
