Welcome to Ladybirds' Class Page

Welcome to Ladybirds class learning page

I am so proud of how well the children are doing in class, it is wonderful to see them growing and changing every single day. It is scary how quickly this year seems to be flying by, It seems like only yesterday they started with us and now we are heading towards our finale term together. Myself and the rest of the team are very excited to be starting the summer term together and seeing the children reach their own personal goals and targets before they head off to Year 1. Thank you for all your support so far. Below is some key information that might be helpful to help you learn about upcoming events for our school. If you have any further questions please just ask either myself or Miss Ray. Have a great day everyone.

Spring  Term Golden ticket Winner

Well done to Rida for being this terms Golden ticket winner.  The children will continue to earn Golden tickets for great work, for demonstrating school values such as kindness, patience as well as for reading at least four times a week at home. The next winner will be chosen at the end of the spring term. Good luck everyone.

Summer clothing

Please remember to send your child to school in weather appropriate clothes. As the weather begins to warm up you will need to consider what clothes your child brings to school. With the temperamental nature of English weather you may wish to send in a thinner rain coat as we are exploring our outside area every day. Please apply sun cream in the morning before your child comes to school. You may also wish to send them into school with a sun hat. Please also send in a water bottle with your child's name clearly shown on it. We are happy to refill water bottles as much as your child requires.

Please can you take a few minutes to check that all items of clothing for your are clearly labelled. Some of the labels have faded or fallen out which can make it very difficult for us to return items to the correct child. If possible please also label hats and water bottles as these are very easily miss placed. The children will be encouraged to put their gloves in their coat pockets when they are not being worn. Thank you for all your support returning borrowed or miss placed items.

PE Day:

We have had to change our PE Day. It will now be on a Friday. Please send your child to school on Fridays in their PE Kit. Your child may wear they PE Kit to school now. Thank you for all your support with this. This term we are really looking forward to working with The team from the MK Dons who will be coming in to do football skills with us on a Friday morning.

School Lunches

You should now be able to order hot food for your child. Alternatively you may wish to send your child in with a pack lunch. Please make sure this is clearly labelled and should not contain nuts or any items with nuts in them as we are a nut free school.

Reading books

Please send your child to school with a book bag. We will send a picture book, blending book, ditty sheet or RWI book home for them to share with you. Their Phonics teacher will decide what is sent home and when it will need to be changed therefore please keep their diary and the book in their book bag. Please read this to your child lots during the week . Please write a comment every time you share the book or other books you may read at home in your child's reading diary to let us know what your child thought of the story. We love to read books at school and always love to hear about your child's favourite books that we can then share in class. On a Friday the amount of reading your child has done (comments shown in their diary) is recorded on a sheet for Mrs Jarman and Mrs Sheridan to see. The class who has read the most receives and extra golden ticket from them. Every child who has read four times or more will also receive a golden ticket.

You should have now received an email with the log in details for Tapestry. If you have any problems activating your account please come and see me and I will happily help you fix this. This account will allow you to see and comment on the things your child is doing at school. It will also allow you to upload anything that you wish to share e.g. a special outing or event or anything. It is an amazing way for us to celebrate your child's learning journey together. Thank you to everyone who has been sharing the wonderful things that you have done at home with your child. The children love to share these with their friends in class.
