Wavendon Gate School

Mrs D Murray - Class 4B

Notice Board

Week Commencing 19/10/2020 - Week 7

Wow - What a Half-Term!

As we approach half-term, I would like to say thank you for all the hard work the children have done.  Over the last seven weeks, we have become a brilliant team, working together and we have enjoyed our learning.

It was great to finally meet you all virtually and I am very pleased with the children's progress so far.  They can continue with this by keeping up with their reading over the break and by learning those Times Tables!  Also, have a good break and return to school refreshed on Monday 2nd November.

Dates for your Diaries

Training Day Friday 23rd October - school is closed.

Reading Books and Reading Records

I am very pleased with the progress and commitment to reading in 4B. However, even if the children are reading books from home, please continue with our reading scheme books.  Pupils are measured on their progress with the colour tapes on their reading records, so it is important that this is shown and that they read all of the books within the colour band.

Please feel free to write in the reading records, it is great to have comments from parents regarding their children's progress.  Children can also comment too.

Times Tables

It is very important that pupils are fluent with their times tables as this helps with all aspects of Mathematics and the four rules of number.  Our classwork will focus on the 6, 7, 11 and 12 times tables very shortly, so please encourage your child to learn these in order to support their learning.

Homework books should all be handed in.  I am looking forward to giving lots of house points to the children for all their hard work.
