  • Homework

Each week, the children are expected to complete at least 4 reads with an adult, learn their spelling focus and practise their times tables. If your child is finding any of this difficult, please talk to your child’s class teacher.

    Reading

Children are expected to read at least four times a week at home. Please log all reading experiences in your child’s reading diary. Reading diaries are checked once a week, and the class with the most reads each week is announced in Friday’s celebration assembly. Each child in the winning class will receive a golden ticket.

    Spellings

Children are set weekly spelling tasks on Spelling Shed (click on the link below to log in). These tasks and games help pupils to practise their weekly spelling focus. All pupils take part in a weekly quiz on a Friday, which includes words that follow the focus pattern. Log-in details are in your child’s reading diary.

    Handwriting

Children are encouraged to practise their daily handwriting work, and daily videos are sent home to guide them. Any work completed at home can be uploaded to Seesaw, the secure online platform for teachers to see and respond to.

    Multiplication

Children are encouraged to learn their multiplication facts for at least the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables using this online game tool called Times Tables Rock Stars (click on the link below to log in). Log-in details are in your child’s reading diary.

    Seesaw Home Learning App

Children in Year 3 are encouraged to send in photos of their learning at home via our home learning app, Seesaw. Seesaw acts as a secure digital portfolio and virtual classroom where teachers can set and mark activities to support in-school learning. Individual logins for Seesaw can be found in your child's reading diary.

  • PE days

Children should come to school dressed in their PE kit on PE days. A list of appropriate PE kit can be found by clicking here.
