Academic year 2025 – 2026

This document below outlines how this money has been spent to develop PE during the academic year.

Total Funding-  £19,545

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) they offer. This means that you should use the Primary PEand sport premium to:

•                     Develop or add to the PESSPA activities that your school already offer

•                     Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupilsjoining the school in future years

•                     The Primary PE and sport premium should not be used to fund capital spend projects; the school’s budgetshould fund these.

The DFE expect schools to use the funding in order to meet and improve the 5 key indicators.

These are:

•                      The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people ages 5

–  19 engage in at lase 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school.

•                      The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.

•                      Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and Sport

•                      Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils

•                      Increased participation in competitive sports.

.

Due to exceptional circumstances priority should be given to ensuring that pupils can perform safe self-rescue even if they do not fully meet the first two requirements of the NC programme of study

What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres?

N.B. Even though your pupils may swim in another year please report on their attainment on leaving primary school at the end of the summer term 2023.

Please see note above

What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]?

Please see note above

57%

What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations?

Develop Children’s fitness levels by monitoring and tracking the golden miles of each child and class.

•       Children run daily on a designated track to build fitness and consistency.

•       Teachers actively monitor and record the number of laps and miles completed by each child.

•       Classes work together collectively to pool their miles and virtually run "across the world".

•       Introduce an inter-class challenge for a weekly trophy, tracking metrics like most improved, highest total, or "mystery numbers".

£100

Children are all running more miles at the end of the year. Better performances in cross country, athletics and sports day events as stamina has increased.

Sustain motivation by continuing to track progress and rewarding achievements with certificates in weekly assemblies.

Sustainability and suggested next steps:

Review how PE and school sport contribute to SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural) development, collaborating with Subject Coordinators to build strong cross-curricular links that support PE learning.

•       Audit current PE and school sport structures to ensure they explicitly contribute to pupils' SMSC development, updating the school PE policy to reflect this focus.

•       Meet with other Subject Coordinators to share ideas, identifying how other curriculum areas can support and enhance learning within PE.

•       Run a targeted staff meeting to share the adapted PE policy, highlighting cross-curricular links and the emotional benefits of sport.

£250

Staff are fully aware of the importance of PE and its emotional benefits for children, enabling teachers across the school to confidently make learning links between subjects.

Continue to monitor integration termly and utilise the sports coach to collaborate with other curriculum leaders.

Raise the profile of PESSPA by encouraging children to experience new sports and participate in competitive festivals and inter-school tournaments.

•       Offer a wide variety of non- traditional sports to pupils during the school year, including cricket, baseball, and handball.

•       Coordinate and facilitate pupil participation in external inter- school competitions, athletics events, and sports festivals.

•       Design and distribute targeted questionnaires to children regarding their personal views on PE and healthy lifestyles.

•       Analyse survey results to directly influence future lesson planning and curriculum design.

•       Identify areas of concern from the data to better support children who may exhibit less positive attitudes toward physical activity.
